My Song In The Night (Gospel of Luke)
我夜间的歌曲《路加福音》
Text: Luke 13: 28-30
ENTERING THE KINGDOM OF GOD
1. This must not be taken for granted.
2. It would be a tragedy to assume that one is entitled to enter into God’s kingdom.
AN IMPORTANT STATEMENT
“There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. They will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom
of God. And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”Luke 13:28-30
1. Who will be there in the kingdom of God?
a. Abraham
b. Isaac
c. Jacob
d. The Prophets of God
2. Who will not be able to enter into the kingdom of God?
a. “Yourselves thrust out” (Luke 13:28)
b. The people who were opposing the Lord Jesus.
c. The people who come to the Lord but do not have faith in Him.
d. There would be “weeping and gnashing of teeth”.
i. In regretful sorrow.
ii. In angry frustration.
3. Many others will come into the Kingdom of God.
a. From the East
b. From the West
c. From the North
d. From the South
There is no mention of those who reside in Jerusalem!
4. And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.
a. The Lord Jesus had come to Israel first but they may end up last!
b. Others would be reached with the Gospel later but they may end up first!
5. Such is the paradox of life!
a. To be presumptuous is not only unwise, it has fatal consequences.
b. The matter of entering the Kingdom of God is too vital to be taken for granted.
