Text: Luke 16: 9
APPLICATION OF THE PARABLE OF THE UNJUST STEWARD
“And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.”
Luke 16:9
APPLICATION OF THE PARABLE OF THE UNJUST STEWARD I
1. This Parable has many lessons to teach us. It is good to learn these lessons well!
2. Money Matters:
a. The Lord’s term for money was “unrighteous mammon”.
i. It is often obtained “unrighteously”.
ii. Exemplified by the Unjust Steward in the Parable.
b. Why did the Lord call it “unrighteous mammon?”
i. Because of the potential danger.
ii. Because a love for money can easily creep in and corrupt a person.
c. He did not encourage His Disciples to seek wealth.
d. But He gave sound advice concerning how we should regard money.
3. “Make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon”
a. The focus is “make friends”.
b. The Opposite idea of being “friendless”.
c. Our faith should lead us:
i. To make friends.
ii. Not to be isolated from people.
d. Money means a lot to many people in the world.
e. Believers should have a clear and correct view of money.
f. When people of the world look at the way we handle money:
i. They may become friends.
ii. But if they see us incorrectly, no friendships would be forthcoming.
4. That when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.
a. When you fail:
i. Sometimes, businesses succeed.
ii. At other times, businesses may fail.
b. They may receive you into an everlasting home.
i. This is a reference to good and true friends made along the way in life.
ii. True friendship can last a lifetime.
iii. Everlasting home does not mean a home in heaven in this context.
iv. This is a word about how true friends may take one into their home for life (on earth).

实践不义的管家的比喻
“我又告诉你们:要借着那不义的钱财结交朋友,到了钱财无用的时候,他们可以接你们到永存的帐幕里去。”
