My Song In The Night (Gospel of Luke)
我夜间的歌曲《路加福音》
Text: Luke 22: 1-2
THE FEAST OF THE PASSOVER
1. This was one of the three Major Feasts of Israel.
2. The other two:
a. The Feast of Pentecost
b. The Feast of Tabernacles
Many pious Jews would try and keep these Feasts at the Temple in Jerusalem.
THE PLOT OF THE ENEMIES OF THE LORD JESUS
“Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called Passover. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill Him, for they feared the people.”
Luke 22:1-2
1. The Feast of the Unleavened Bread.
a. This immediately followed the Passover Feast.
b. This Feast is often mentioned as including the Passover.
c. This was sometimes considered as “more important”.
2. The Focus of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread.
a. This Bread symbolised purity.
b. This was a reminder that all worshippers must choose and desire to live a life marked by righteousness.
3. A great irony noted.
a. The chief priests
i. These were in charge of the Temple ministry.
ii. They were supposed to be teaching people about righteousness.
b. The scribes
i. These were experts in the law of Moses.
ii. They are supposed to teach the holy Scriptures to all the worshippers.
c. They were plotting how they might kill the Lord Jesus.
4. Fear of the people.
a. The general public loved the teachings of the Lord Jesus.
b. They had the highest regard for the Lord.
c. If the people knew that the chief priests and scribes were plotting to kill the Lord Jesus, they would react strongly against them.
d. They were afraid of the multitudes!
经文:路加福音 22:1-2
逾越节
1. 这是以色列的三大节期之一
2. 另外两个:
a. 五旬节
