Text: Luke 22: 28-30

PERSONAL GREATNESS

1. There was absolutely no need for anyone to seek personal greatness.

2. The Lord Jesus already had graciously planned to bless all who were faithfully following Him.

THE BESTOWAL OF A KINGDOM

“But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials. And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

Luke 22:28-30

1. Acknowledgment of the Disciples.

a. They had continued to follow the Lord Jesus.

b. His trials:

i. Moving from place to place.

ii. No place to call home.

iii. A life of total dependence on God and His daily provision.

2. Bestowal of a kingdom by God to the Lord Jesus.

a. God the Father had given the Lord Jesus a Kingdom.

b. This was prophesied in Daniel 7:13-14, 27.

c. This would be a glorious and eternal kingdom.

3. Bestowal of a kingdom by the Lord Jesus to His faithful Disciples.

a. They may eat and drink at His royal table.

b. They may assist the Lord Jesus Christ in His Kingdom.

c. They would sit as judges over the tribes of Israel.

d. Meaning:

i. They would no longer be Disciples in the future.

ii. They would be greatly exalted and wield authority as “judges”.

b. 祂在磨练之中：

i. 从一个地方去到另一个地方

ii. 无家可归

iii. 一个完全依赖上帝和祂每日所供应的生活

2. 上帝将国赐给主耶稣

a. 天父上帝把国度赐给了主耶稣

b. 这在《但以理书 7：13-14，27》里已预言

c. 这将是一个富荣耀而永恒的国度

3. 主耶稣将国赐给祂忠心的门徒

a. 他们可以坐在祂的席上吃喝

b. 他们可以在主耶稣基督的国度里协助祂

c. 他们将坐在宝座上审判以色列十二个支派

d. 意思：

i. 他们将来不会再是门徒

ii. 他们将被大大提升，行使权力，作为“审判者”
