THE ARREST OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
“And while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him, ‘Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?’”
Luke 22:47-48
1. The warning that the Lord Jesus gave to His Disciples about His betrayal.
That was coming to pass right before their eyes.
2. A multitude came.
a. These were not followers.
b. These were enemies.
i. Pharisees
ii. Sadducees
iii. Elders
iv. Soldiers
3. “Judas, one of the Twelve”
a. He was the one who was leading the multitude.
b. The other Disciples now clearly saw the betrayer of the Lord Jesus.
c. The Lord had forewarned them but they had not taken full heed.
4. Greeting the Lord Jesus with a false kiss.
a. A kiss was the common way of greeting.
i. A family member.
ii. A close friend.
iii. This was to express recognition.
b. Judas was not greeting the Lord Jesus for any of the above reasons.
i. This was the signal to arrest the One whom Judas would kiss.
ii. This was a kiss of betrayal.
5. The Calm Response of the Lord Jesus
a. He spoke to Judas directly.
b. Was Judas betraying “The Son of Man” with a kiss?
i. The Son of Man.
This was a Messianic Title.
ii. This was used in the Book of Psalms (Psalms 2, 8).
iii. This was used in the prophetic books (Daniel 2:13-14, 27).

1.主耶稣警告祂的门徒祂将受背叛的事
这事就快在他们眼前发生
2.来了许多人
a.这些不是跟随者
b.这些是敌人
i.法利赛人
ii.撒都该人
iii.长老
iv.士兵
3.“那十二个门徒里名叫犹大的”
a.他走在前头带领群众
b.其他门徒现在清楚地看到背叛主耶稣的人
c.主已经预先警告过他们,但他们没有放在心里
4.用假亲吻问候主耶稣
a.亲吻是常见的问候方式
i.对家人
ii.对好朋友
iii.这是表示认识
b.犹大不是为了上述的任何原因问候主耶稣
