Text: Luke 24: 4-7
THE DESPAIR OF THE WOMEN DISCIPLES

2. They had planned to anoint the body of the Lord Jesus in His tomb.
3. They were totally unprepared to see an empty tomb.
4. They were greatly perplexed!
A SPECIAL ANGELIC VISIT
“And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, ‘Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke
to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’’”Luke 24:4-7

i. Did they think that the Lord Jesus would remain among the dead?
ii. Why did they think that He would be in the tomb?
iii. Why had they not thought that He would be among the living? That He would be alive?
c. An important announcement:
i. He is not in the tomb!
ii. He is alive!
d. Remembering what the Lord Jesus had said.
i. The Lord Jesus had spoken to them when they were in Galilee.
ii. He would be delivered into the hands of sinful men.
iii. He would be crucified.
iv. But He would rise on the third day.
e. This was the third day!
The Lord Jesus had risen from the dead, as He had said!
