Text: Luke 24: 11-12

THE TESTIMONY OF THE WOMEN DISCIPLES

1. Their faith was restored and renewed.

2. Many reasons why this was the case:

a. They saw an empty tomb.

b. They met two angels who spoke to them.

c. They remembered what the Lord Jesus had told them.

i. That He would suffer and die.

ii. That He would rise from the dead on the third day!

WHAT WAS THE IMPACT OF THEIR TESTIMONY ON THE DISCIPLES?

“And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.”

Luke 24:11

1. The Apostles listened to the women.

2. But their words did not impact them at all.

a. The testimony of the women was like “idle tales”.

b. The men just could not believe them.

c. Such was the state of unbelief that had settled in their hearts!

3. But despite their unbelief, the women disciples were not shaken in their faith.

PETER’S RESPONSE

“But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marvelling to himself at what had happened.”

Luke 24:12

1. Peter decided that he would check out what the women disciples had said.

2. He ran to the tomb of the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. The women disciples were correct!

a. He stooped to peer inside the tomb.

b. He saw the linen grave cloths used to wrap the Lord Jesus.

4. Peter went away from the tomb.

a. He marvelled at what had happened.

b. But no angel came to him.

c. He could not make sense of what he had seen.

i. The tomb of the Lord Jesus was empty.

ii. The body of the Lord was not there.

iii. But Peter had not been able to believe as the women disciples did.
At least, not yet!

女门徒的见证

1. 她们的信心得到恢复和更新

2. 出现这种情况的原因有很多：

2. 但是她们的话完全对使徒们没有影响

a. 妇女们的见证就像“胡言”

b. 使徒们简直不敢相信她们

c. 这就是他们心中的不信状态！

3. 尽管使徒不信，妇女们的信心并没有被动摇

彼得的回应

“彼得起来，跑到坟墓前，低头往里看，见细麻布独在一处，就回去了，心里稀奇所成的事。”

《路加福音 24: 12》

1. 彼得决定去瞧看女门徒所说的

2. 他跑到主耶稣基督的坟墓前

3. 女门徒说的对！

a. 他低头往里看

b. 他看到用来包裹主耶稣的细麻布

4. 彼得离开坟墓

a. 他对所发生的事情心里稀奇所成的事

b. 但是没有天使来找他

c. 他无法理解他所看到的

i. 主耶稣的坟墓是空的

ii. 主耶稣的身体不在那里

iii. 但彼得无法像女门徒那样的相信

至少，现在还没有！
