My Song In The Night (Gospel of Luke)
我夜间的歌曲《路加福音》
Text: Luke 24: 40-43
CONCRETE PROOF
1. The Lord Jesus continued to give much grace and kindness to His disciples.
a. He knew that they were struggling to believe Him.
b. Even if He had appeared to them personally, still they struggled.
2. He had to reach down to where they were.
a. The Lord Jesus knew that they needed concrete proof that He was truly alive.
b. He wanted them to be absolutely convinced that He was truly alive.
SEEING AND FEELING
“When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. But while they still did not believe for joy, and marvelled, He said to them, ‘Have you any food here’ So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. And He took it and ate in their presence.”
Luke 24:40-43
1. Hands and feet
a. The hands and feet of the Lord Jesus were nailed to the cross.
b. There would be nail scars that would be left behind.
c. He showed them both His hands and His feet.
2. Believing and marvelling
a. The disciples were filled with joy as they viewed this proof shown to them.
b. The word “marvel”.
i. On the one hand, there was a sense of positive astonishment.
ii. On the other hand, there was a sense of incredulity (disbelief).
3. Eating in the presence of the Disciples.
a. He asked His Disciples if they had any food with them.
b. They gave Him a broiled fish and a bit of honeycomb.
c. Right in their presence He ate before them.
d. If the Lord Jesus was just a spirit, He would not be able to eat the fish and the honeycomb.
e. Surely, this was proof enough that He had a body, a Resurrection Body!
