Text: Luke 4:38-41

LEAVING THE SYNAGOGUE

1. The Lord Jesus had taught in the synagogue.

2. He had also healed a man who had been possessed by a demon.

3. The synagogue ministry was over for the day.

IN THE HOME OF SIMON PETER

1. He went to the home of Simon Peter

a. Simon Peter was married.
b. But we do not have details of his family.

2. Peter’s mother-in-law was ill with a high fever

a. Medical knowledge was not great in those days.
b. A request was made to the Lord Jesus to attend to her (Luke 4:39).

3. Healing was not a problem with the Lord Jesus

a. He went to her immediately.
b. Peter’s mother-in-law was healed instantly (Luke 4:39).

4. Serving the Lord

a. We can imagine the gratitude felt in the heart.
b. Peter’s mother-in-law served the Lord and His disciples immediately (Luke 4:39).

AT THE SETTING OF THE SUN

1. Many came to the home of Simon Peter.

2. They sought the help of the Lord Jesus.

a. Those who suffered from various types of diseases.
b. Those who were possessed by demons.
c. They cried out.
“You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Luke 4:41

3. The Lord rebuked the demons. He did not allow them to declare that He was indeed the Messiah (The Christ- “The Anointed One”).

a. His Messiahship was not to be declared by demons.
b. It was to be individually discovered by faith.

1. 许多人来到西门的家

c. 他们喊着
“你是神的儿子！”《路加福音 4:41》

3. 上帝斥责了污鬼。祂不允许他们宣称祂确实是弥赛亚（基督—“受膏者”）。
