我夜间的歌曲《路加福音》
Text: Luke 6: 21
SPECIAL WORDS OF BLESSING
1. These special words about Blessings are called “Beatitudes”.
2. The Beatitudes are also noted in Matthew 5:3-12.
3. The Beatitudes were explained differently in the Gospel of Luke.
IS THERE A BLESSING FOR THOSE WHO HUNGER?
“Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you shall be filled.”
Luke 6:21a
1. “Blessed are you who hunger now”
a. These Disciples had chosen to follow the Lord Jesus.
b. The immediate and direct results are:
i. They had become poor.
ii. There may be days when they will hunger.
c. These are not things many were prepared for!
2. “For you shall be filled”
a. The Lord would not see them starve, of course.
b. He will provide somehow.
c. But the Lord would fill them with blessings far better than just food.
i. Their blessing would be knowledge and joy.
ii. Their blessing would also be faith and everlasting life.
d. Being hungry in the process of following the Lord Jesus is a small price to pay.
IS THERE A BLESSING FOR SORROW AND TEARS?
1. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.” Luke 6:21b
2. Following the Lord Jesus was challenging.
3. The Disciples had family and friends.
a. Not all would understand why anyone would follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
b. He was a very new Teacher.
c. He was not acclaimed by the scribes and the Pharisees.
d. To give up so many things to follow the Lord Jesus would have caused tears to flow, and some others to weep.
3. “For you shall laugh.”
a. Laughter is the external expression of an internal joy.
b. In following the Lord Jesus, the Disciples would become:
i. Stronger
ii. Wiser
iii. There would be joy as they walked with the Lord Jesus.
c. Tears may be for the moment but laughter would eclipse sorrow one day.
