Text: Colossians 2: 8-10

MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – CHRISTOLOGY

“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”

Colossians 2:8-10

COMPLETE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

1. The salvation that the Lord Jesus gives is truly and fully complete.

2. Our salvation is centred in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

a. Who is the Lord Jesus Christ?
i. He is fully Man.
ii. He is also fully Divine.
b. The fulness of the Godhead dwelt in the Lord Jesus.
c. The following features of being Divine were highlighted in the Gospels:
i. He had power over a windstorm.
ii. He had power to heal people.
iii. He had authority to forgive sin.
iv. He had authority to grant eternal life.
v. He had authority to pass judgment.

3. All who believe in the Lord Jesus are made complete in Him.

a. All sins are forgiven.
b. We become children of God.
c. Eternal life in heaven is fully promised.
d. There is nothing we need to do to make us “complete”.

4. Features of the false teachings highlighted:

a. Man-made philosophy.
b. Empty deceit (false promises).
c. Traditions of men (no divine origin).
d. Crude and basic principles of the world which cannot be compared to the teachings of the Lord Jesus.

5. What these false teachings were seeking to do:

a. To cause believers to doubt the Person and the promises of the Lord Jesus.
b. To offer weak and false alternatives which were supposed to be better.
c. These false teachings were exposed and rejected by the Apostle Paul.

“你们要谨慎，恐怕有人用他的理学和虚空的妄言，不照着基督，乃照人间的遗传和世上的小学，就把你们掳去。因为神本性一切的丰盛，都有形有体地居住在基督里面；你们在他里面也得了丰盛。他是各样执政掌权者的元首。”

《歌罗西书 2：8-10》

在主耶稣基督里面得了丰盛

1. 主耶稣提供的救赎是真实和丰盛的

2. 我们的救赎集中于主耶稣基督

a. 主耶稣基督是谁

i. 祂有完全的人性

ii. 祂也有完全的神性

b. 上帝本性一切的丰盛居住在主耶稣里

c. 福音中强调了耶稣所拥有的神性：

i. 祂能平息暴风雨

ii. 祂能医治有疾病的人

iii. 祂有权柄原谅罪孽

iv. 祂有权柄赐人永生

v. 祂有权柄审判

3. 相信主耶稣的人都在主里面得了丰盛

a. 所有的罪都得以赦免

b. 我们成为上帝的儿女

c. 天堂的永生是上帝所应许的

d. 我们不需要再做任何事才得以“完全”

4. 异教的特征

a. 人造的理学

b. 虚空的妄言（虚假的骗言）

c. 人间的遗传（不是源自上帝）

d. 世上的思想系统和粗浅、初级的异端教训不能与主耶稣的教训相比

5. 这异教寻求：

a. 使信徒怀疑主耶稣的身份与应许

b. 提供虚假的教训，伪装做更好的教诲

c. 这些异教被使徒保罗揭穿抵制了
