Text: Galatians 2: 20-21

MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – SALVATION

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

Galatians 2:20-21

THE CRUCIFIXION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

1. The death of the Lord Jesus was by crucifixion.

a. It was one of the cruellest ways to kill a person.
b. The crucifixion of the Lord Jesus impacted the heart of Paul deeply.

2. Paul chose to identify himself with the Lord Jesus.

a. He had chosen to put to death:
i. His past sinful ways.
ii. His so-called meritorious life as a Pharisee.
b. His new life through justification by faith.
i. It is no longer “Paul’s life”.
ii. It was now the life of the Lord Jesus that mattered.
c. His earthly life in the flesh.
i. Paul lived by faith in the Lord Jesus, the Son of God.
ii. Paul valued and treasured the Lord Jesus dearly.
d. Great consciousness and appreciation:
i. Of the great love of the Lord Jesus.
ii. Of the tremendous sacrifice the Lord made when He was crucified to give us justification and salvation.

3. The grace of God:

a. It is to be understood and appreciated immensely.
b. It must never be set aside or taken for granted.

4. Righteousness cannot come through keeping the Law.

a. If we can earn righteousness (that is, justification., then the cruel death of the Lord Jesus would be in vain)
b. But through the death of the Lord Jesus, by the grace of God, we stand justified by faith,
c. This wonderful new life should be dedicated to living for the Lord!

主耶稣基督钉十字架

1. 主耶稣是钉十字架而舍命

a. 这是杀害人的最残忍的方式之一

b. 主耶稣被钉十字架深深地打动了保罗的心

2. 保罗选择与主耶稣认同

a. 他选择了处死

i. 他过去的罪恶行为

ii. 他作为法利赛人的所谓功德的生活

b. 他因信心称义的新生命

i. 这不再是“保罗的生命”

ii. 现在重要的是主耶稣的生命

c. 他在肉身中的生活

i. 保罗因信在上帝的儿子主耶稣而生活

ii. 保罗非常珍视和珍惜主耶稣

d. 极大的意识和欣赏：

i. 主耶稣的大爱

ii. 主在被钉十字架时为给我们称义和救恩所做的巨大牺牲

3. 神的恩典

a. 必须深深地理解和欣赏它

b. 它绝不能被搁置或认为是理所当然的

4. 义是不能借着遵守律法而得的

a. 如果我们能获得公义（即称义）

b. 那么主耶稣的残忍死亡将是徒劳的

c. 但借着主耶稣舍命，通过神的恩典，我们因信称义

d. 这个美好的新生命应该献给主而活！
