My Song In The Night (Vital Doctrines)
我夜间的歌曲《重要教义-救恩》
Text: Galatians 4: 3-5
MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – SALVATION
“Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”
Galatians 4:3-5
THE ADOPTION OF SONS
1. The analogy applied.
a. “When we were children”
i. This period is likened to be “in bondage”.
ii. There was no freedom.
iii. Instruction had to be given.
b. Under the elements of the world.
i. There were laws to be learned.
ii. There were restrictions applied.
iii. The lessons included instruction of how to live in this world.
2. In the fulness of time.
a. First, the Lord gave prophecies.
b. The prophecies concerning the Messiah were of great significance.
c. At the right time, called “fulness,” God send forth His Son, the Lord Jesus.
i. He was to be fully human, thus, He was to be born of a woman.
ii. He was to be born under the Law.
iii. He would have to learn to live under the Law
iv. He also had to perfectly fulfil the requirements of the Law.
3. Redemption of the soul.
a. The Lord Jesus was sent forth to become our Redeemer.
b. He would save us from the consequences of sin, which is death.
c. He would offer grace and mercy to all who are repentant.
4. True sons and daughters of God.
a. Through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ we receive salvation.
i. We are justified.
ii. We are declared righteous before God.
b. In this plan of redemption:
i. We are given spiritual adoption.
ii. God accepts and receives us as children in the Lord Jesus Christ.
c. Those who are under the law.
i. This is a reference to the Jews in particular.
ii. They are under the law.
iii. They would need redemption through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ too.
iv. They would also be given “the adoption of sons”.
