My Song In The Night (Vital Doctrines)
我夜间的歌曲《重要教义-救恩》
Text: Galatians 5
MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – SALVATION
“Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law.”
Galatians 5:2-3
THE RITE OF CIRCUMCISION
1. It was the LORD who spoke to Abraham about the rite of circumcision.
2. This was meant to be of great symbolic significance:
a. It was meant to represent the removal of sin.
b. Because of the removal of sin, Israel was God’s holy people.
c. Circumcision was to be performed on the 8th day after birth of every son.
3. The rite of circumcision became much more than that for ancient Israel.
a. It became the beginning of the keeping of the law of Moses.
b. Circumcision was not the only thing the Gentile must do.
c. He is commanded to keep the whole law.
d. He is indebted to keep all the 613 laws of Judaism if he desires to be saved.
4. This was the opposite of what the Lord Jesus came to do.
a. He came to give salvation.
b. He came to bring great blessings from God.
c. He came to free us from everything that makes us bound:
i. From sin that binds.
ii. From Satan who captures all sinners.
iii. From the law to which many were indebted to obey but cannot fulfil.
5. What would circumcision do for the believer?
a. If a person believes that he must be circumcised to be saved, then his “faith” in the Lord Jesus may well “profit him nothing”.
b. Faith in the Lord is all that is needed.
i. Nothing can be added to this faith.
ii. Nothing can be added to the death of the Lord Jesus on the cross of Calvary.
6. A debtor to keep the whole law.
a. This was something that Paul had to point out.
b. Circumcision was not all that the false teachers were teaching.
c. They were subtly drawing people to become debtors to keeping the whole law.
i. They themselves know that no one can keep the whole law.
ii. How could the Gentiles keep all the 613 laws they advocate?

经文:加拉太书 5
“我保罗告诉你们,若受割礼,基督就于你们无益了。我再指着凡受割礼的人确实地说:他是欠着行全律法的债。”
《加拉太书 5:2-3》
