The Resurrection of Lazarus

Text: John 11: 43-44

THE RESURRECTION OF LAZARUS

Every miracle Jesus performed was spectacular. Every act of healing is special and wonderful. The miracle of Lazarus from the dead was definitely a glorious demonstration of God’s power in the life of Jesus.

“Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come forth!’ And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, ‘Loose him, and let him go.’”

John 11:43-44

1. “Now when He had said these things”

Jesus had concluded His prayer to the Father.

2. “He cried with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come forth’”

a. This was a voice of faith.

b. A voice of confidence.

c. The loudness of the voice suggests strength.

3. “And he who had died came out”

a. This must have surprised everyone.

b. They had never seen such a miracle before.

4. “Bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth”

a. There was no mistaking that the person had been entombed.

b. The description was of one who had died.

i. The dead are bound hand and foot.

ii. Graveclothes would be used to wrap him up.

iii. His face would be fully wrapped up.

iv. This was a description of a “mummy”.

5. “Jesus said to them, ‘Loose him, and let him go’”

a. Lazarus would have to be loosed from all the cloths that bound him.

b. His hands would be fully tied up and he would not be able to loose himself.

c. Those who saw and participated in loosing Lazarus would confirm that they had just witnessed a most amazing miracle!

d. He must be loosed so that he could return to the land of the living.

e. This miracle was living proof that Jesus was indeed “The resurrection and the life”.

拉撒路从死里复活

耶稣所行的每一件神迹都是令人惊叹的。每一个医治人的事件都是特别及美妙的。拉撒路从死里复活的神迹，确实是上帝的大能在耶稣生命里被荣耀地展现了。

“说了这话，就大声呼叫说：‘拉撒路出来！’ 那死人就出来了，手脚裹着布，脸上包着手巾。耶稣对他们说：‘解开，叫他走！’”

《约翰福音 11：43-44》

1.“说了这话”

耶稣总结了祂对天父的祷告。

2. “就大声呼叫说：‘拉撒路出来！’”

a. 这是个富有信心的呼叫

b. 一个充满信靠的呼叫

c. 呼叫的音量表明了力量

3. “那死人就出来了”

a. 这一定使众人惊讶

b. 他们从没看过这样的神迹

4. “手脚裹着布，脸上包着手巾”

a. 这人肯定已被安葬了

b. 以下所形容的是一个已死了的人

i. 死人的手脚都被裹着

ii. 他将会被布裹着

iii. 他的脸是完全被包着的

iv. 这形容了一个“木乃伊”

5. “耶稣对他们说：‘解开，叫他走！’”

a. 拉撒路必须解开所有束缚他的布

b. 他的手完全被布捆绑了，因此不能自我解开

c. 那些看到及帮忙解开拉撒路的人，能确定自己刚刚目睹了一个非常奇妙的神迹！

d. 他需要被解开，才可以回到活人之地

e. 这神迹活生生地证明了耶稣确实是“复活与生命”
