Going to Jerusalem
Text: John 12: 12-13
GOING TO JERUSALEM
The parents of Jesus went to Jerusalem every year. The Gospel of Luke recorded an occasion when Jesus was in Jerusalem, listening and asking questions from the teachers there (Luke 2:41-50). It is highly likely that Jesus went to Jerusalem so often, He was familiar with the layout of the city.
ONE FINAL TRIP TO JERUSALEM
All the Gospels recorded the final visit of Jesus into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:8; Mark 11:8; Luke 19:35; John 12:12). However, this trip to Jerusalem would turn out to be a very special and significant visit.
“The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: ‘Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD! The King of Israel!’”
John 12:12-13
