Glorification

Text: John 13: 31-32

GLORIFICATION

The concept of “glorification” is an important thing to comprehend. However, it is not an easy teaching to understand.

“So when he had gone out, Jesus said, ‘Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, And glorify Him immediately.’”

John 13:31-32

1. What does the word “glorify” mean?

a. To bring high honour
b. To bring glory to the individual

2. “Now the Son of Man is glorified”

a. The work of Jesus was coming to an end soon
b. Jesus had fulfilled all that was expected of Him
c. Thus, great honour and glory would be given to Him

3. “And God is glorified in Him”

a. Glory would also be given to God the Father
b. The success of the Son is the glory of the Father
c. The relationship between Father and Son are intricately interwoven

4. “If God is glorified in Him”

a. God is indeed glorified in Jesus
b. All the miracles of Jesus performed so perfectly caused people to glorify God in Jesus

5. “God will also glorify Him in Himself”

a. There is a glory known and understood by Man
b. There is also a glory that cannot be fully comprehended by Man
c. God will honour and glorify Jesus in Himself

6. “And glorify Him immediately”

a. The glorification of Jesus in God Himself is done immediately
b. God already knows the heart and the ministry of Jesus
c. He has already approved of Him
d. Thus, He is already glorified in God’s sight

b．也有一种荣耀是人们无法完全理解的
c．上帝会因自己而尊敬、荣耀耶稣

6． “并且要快快地荣耀他”

a．上帝很立即地荣耀耶稣
b．上帝已经深知耶稣的心和职事
c．上帝已经认同了祂
d．所以，在天父眼里衪已经被荣耀了
