John's Deep and Humble Insight

Text: John 3: 28-30

“You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before Him.’ He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore, this joy of mine is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease.”

John 3:28-30 

JOHN’S DEEP AND HUMBLE INSIGHT

John the Baptiser was outstanding as a teacher. He wanted his disciples to learn the following vital truths!

1. John’s original witness

a. He never saw himself as “the Christ”.
i. The specially Anointed One
ii. The Messiah
b. John was simply.
i. The one who was “sent”.
ii. He was the voice in the wilderness.
iii. His task was to prepare the way of the Lord.
iv. He was the unimportant servant and Jesus was the Lord!
c. This truth must be remembered and maintained.

2. The imagery of a Bridegroom

a. Jesus was the Bridegroom.
b. John was the friend of the Bridegroom (The best man).
c. The feelings of the friend of the Bridegroom:
i. He is there to assist Him.
ii. To stand by Him.
iii. To rejoice in Him.
iv. He is filled with joy for the Bridegroom!
v. Fulfilment for him was the special sense of joy that filled his heart as he gazed at the Bridegroom.

3. A deeply moving humble statement

a. Jesus must keep increasing… in His life, ministry and success!
b. John must keep decreasing! A profoundly humble statement from a true servant of God!

约翰深奥和谦逊的见解

施洗约翰是一位出众的老师。他希望他的门徒学习以下重要的真理！

1. 约翰原有的见证

a. 他从来没有视自己为 “基督”
i. 特别受膏者
ii. 弥赛亚
b. 约翰只是
i. 被“差遣”的人
ii. 他是旷野中的声音
iii. 他的任务是准备主的道路
iv. 耶稣是主，他只是一位不重要的仆人
c. 必须记住并保存这真理

2. 新郎的意象

a. 耶稣是新郎
b. 约翰是新郎的朋友（伴郎）
c. 新郎的朋友的感受
i. 从旁协助他
ii. 支持他
iii. 为他喜乐
iv. 他为新郎感到高兴！
v. 当他凝视着新郎时，他的内心充满着特别的喜乐。这是他的满足感。

3. 一个深受感动的陈述

a. 耶稣必须不断增加……在他的生命，事工和成就里！
b. 约翰必须继续减少！这个深奥与谦卑的陈述来自上帝真实的仆人。
