“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering…” Hebrew 10:23

A SOBERING REALITY

It is a challenging thing to be able to hold fast to our faith in the Lord. The sad reality is that few have managed to hold fast.

1. Ancient Israel

The nation of ancient Israel is a sobering reality. It was a nation that was blessed with much, but it failed to hold fast to the Lord.

2. The Church

Sadly the Church at large has not fared as well. The present state of the church in the world is disheartening. Schism and apostasy has sapped the strength of the church badly!

3. Individuals

Whether in the days of David or even in our times, few individuals have succeeded to hold fast to their profession of faith.

A NEEDED CHALLENGE

This was a text that just had to be written. The call to hold fast must be rung out loud and clear.

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for He who promised is faithful.”
Hebrews 10:23

1. “The confession of our hope”

a) Our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
b) Our justification because of our faith in Christ.
c) Our hope of eternal rest.

2. “Let us hold fast… without wavering”

a) This is something that we must personally determine.
b) Not just holding fast… but also without wavering.

3. “He who promised is faithful”

a) Let us remember who our God is!
b) Let us remember that He is our Faithful God who will keep His promises.
