Day 45 – Psalm 45

“Your arrows are sharp…” Psalm 45:5

POWERFUL ENEMIES

Israel had many powerful enemies. Many nations were far more powerful than Israel. The traditional enemies of ancient Israel were powerful Egypt, Syria, Assyria and Babylonia. There were also many mighty nations that were a thorn in the flesh. These include the Philistines, the Midianites, the Amorites etc.

BATTLING ENEMIES

There were some kings of Israel that were weak. They compromised and made foolish alliances that weakened the nation further. The good King described in the following text was one who was not afraid to battle strong enemies.

The peoples fall under You.”
