CRYING OUT TO GOD

The psalmist was not ashamed to testify of a time in his life when he was in trouble. The most natural thing to do when one is in serious trouble would be to cry out to God.

AN APPROPRIATE VERBAL RESPONSE

God’s answers to our cries for help are often not met with appropriate responses. A weak “thank you” is hardly an appropriate response!

The psalmist shows us how we make an appropriate response to God. The extolling of God fits well with the fulfilling of the vow to offer burnt offerings. The rich verbal response of extolling God affirms the heart’s gratitude to Him for His gracious application of Divine power seen in protection, preservation and rich fulfilment of His promises!
