"(Nothing) shall be able to separate us from the love of God."

Text: Romans 8:39

A POWERFUL DECLARATION OF FAITH

One of the most powerful declarations of confident faith in God would be the following text!

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor principalities nor powers,
nor things present nor things to come,
nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39

We too can have this strong confident faith. This is how we may make this declaration of faith personal and real.

1. I am persuaded

a) Seek to go beyond an intellectual comprehension of faith in Christ.

b) Possess a faith that enables us to say boldly, “I am persuaded”.

c) Dare to articulate this confident faith in Christ out loud… and often!

2. Focus on the love of God

a) Recall the many statements of God’s love for us (Cf. Romans 5:5, 8).

b) Believe in the love of God in Christ.

c) Experience the reality of this great love of God.

d) Hold up your faith in the love of Christ against all odds.

3. Significance of stating the odds against us

a) Why did Paul go to such lengths to state the odds against us?

b) These are some of the reasons:-

i) In stating them we minimize our fear of these odds.

ii) In squaring the love of God against these odds we triumph.

iii) In knowing the odds, we become that much stronger in our faith in Christ.
