“SO JOSHUA CONQUERED ALL THE LAND”


(I) THE PROMISES OF GOD

1. That He would give them the land of Canaan (Joshua 1:2-4)

2. That He would be with Joshua (Joshua 1:5)

3. That no man would be able to stand before him (Joshua 1:5)

4. That He would never forsake him (Joshua 1:5)

 

(II) JOSHUA’S PART

1. Personal

a) To be strong and of good courage (Joshua 1:6)

b) To meditate on God’s word (Joshua 1:8)


2. Public

a) Leadership

b) Organising of an army


3. Spiritual

a) To submit to the Commander of the army of the Lord (Joshua 5)

b) To be much in prayer

 

(III) THE CONQUEST OF THE LAND

1. Conquest of the land highly successful


2. Campaigns were long and difficult against powerful and resistant armies

 

(IV) ANALYSIS OF THE CONQUEST OF THE LAND OF CANAAN

1. God’s part

a) His protection

b) His power

c) His Presence

d) His part fulfilled


2. Israel’s part

a) Obedience

b) Application of faith

c) Battling with much strength and courage
