INTRODUCTION

1. The Privilege of Faith

a) Through Faith we have obtained
i) Salvation
ii) Blessings
b) Through Faith we can obtain
i) Power from God
ii) Provision from God

2. The Pursuit of Faith

a) Let us be encouraged to Pursue the growth of Faith
b) Let us be encouraged to Practise our growing faith

A WONDERFUL GOAL TO CONSIDER

1. To obtain a Good Testimony

a) A good witness
b) “You shall be My witnesses”   (Acts 1:8)
i) Fulfilment of this Calling
ii) Faithfulness to this Calling

2. Many have obtained a Good Testimony

a) A long list of people who have obtained this good testimony
b) Noted in Hebrews 11:33-38
i) Their names are not recorded
ii) They are not famous people
iii) They are ordinary people
iv) But they have also obtained a Good Testimony

HOW MAY WE OBTAIN THIS GOAL OF HAVING A GOOD TESTIMONY?

1. All had the same means

a) By Faith
b) Through Faith

2. What Faith was given for

a) To be used
“By faith”   (Hebrews 11:31)
b) To be used in a very personal and conscious manner
“Through faith”   (Hebrews 11:33)

PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF FAITH

1. Consciousness of God’s gift of Faith
(I have been given Faith)

a) Encouragement from Examples
b) Encouragement from knowledge that God watches over us
c) Encouragement to put into practice

2. Conscious Application

a) Living by faith
“The just shall live by faith”   Romans 1:17
b) Daily application
i) Remember
ii) Rejoice in the use of faith

3. Confession when we have failed

a) There may be failures
b) We confess
c) We learn from our mistakes
d) We try again

CONCLUSION

1. We can obtain a Good Testimony too

2. We may pray for the following:

a) Courage
b) Commitment to live by faith
c) Concrete action
