(II) THE CHOICE OF OUR OBJECT OF TRUST

1. Choosing God

“O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.” Psalm 16:2

2. Rejecting other gods

“Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take up their names on my lips” Psalm 16:4

(III) THE CONTINUING RELATIONSHIP OF TRUST IN GOD

1. Dependence on God in prayer

“Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.” Psalm 16:1

2. Determination to focus on God

“I have set the Lord always before me…” Psalm 16:8

3. Deep Assurance for eternity

“For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.” Psalm 16:10

4. Definite sense of hope

“My flesh also will rest in hope.” Psalm 16:9

(IV) CONCLUSIONS

1. God maintains our lot

“O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; you maintain my lot. ” Psalm 16:5

“I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.” Psalm 16:7

“In Your presence, there is fullness of joy;…” Psalm 16:11
