AS I WAS WITH MOSES, SO I WILL BE WITH YOU

A GREAT SERVANT OF THE LORD

There is no denying the fact that Moses was a great servant of the Lord. The feats he accomplished were remarkable. Four things may be highlighted:-

1. He led Israel out of Egypt

2. He led Israel through the wilderness journey of 40 years

3. He gave to Israel great and important teachings

4. He interceded most effectively for the children of Israel


THE PERSON BEHIND MOSES AND JOSHUA

We must never forget who was behind Moses. The following text highlights an important truth.

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life;
As I was with Moses, so I will be with you.
I will not leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5

1. As I was with Moses

a) God was the One who called Moses to serve Him

b) He was the One who empowered Moses so that he could perform mighty miracles

c) He was the One who gave the Laws to Moses to teach the children of Israel

d) He was the Merciful God who heard and answered prayers

e) He was the One who provided amply for all the needs of Israel

f) He was the One who protected Israel from danger

2. So I will be with you

a) This was a wonderful promise given

b) The contents of this promise

i) No man will be able to oppose Joshua successfully

ii) God’s Presence will be given to Joshua too

iii) God will never leave the side of Joshua

iv) God will never forsake him


MUCH STRENGTH AND COURAGE

Much strength and courage may be drawn from this text!

1. Let us exercise faith in God’s promises

2. Let us draw much strength and courage

3. Let us exhort each other in life and ministry
