LET US SING TO THE LORD

Text: Psalm 95
21 September 2014

A JUBILANT PSALM

We have a very happy call to worship in the following text. The theme of giving thanks to God jubilantly is most obvious!

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

For the LORD is a great God,
And the great King above all gods. Psalm 95:1-3

A GREAT CALL TO WORSHIP

Let us ponder this great call to worship the Lord!

1. A call to sing to the Lord

2. A call to shout joyfully to the Lord because He is the Rock of our salvation

3. A call to come into His presence with thanksgiving


REASONS TO WORSHIP THE LORD

Some reasons are offered as to why we should worship the Lord.

1. Because He is the Rock of our salvation

2. Because He is a great God

3. Because He is a great King


WHAT ARE SOME OF OUR REASONS TO WORSHIP THE LORD?

The Psalmist has given us some ideas as to how we ought to worship the Lord. Let us look at some of the reasons why we want to worship Him! We may find that we have similar reasons:-

1. Because He is our Saviour as well

2. Because He is our Rock too

3. Because He is a great God and King to us in every sense


FOUR DECADES OF BLESSINGS

How has the Lord blessed us? Let us try and measure the scope of His blessings!

1. With reference to time
God has blessed us for more than 4 decades!

2. With reference to scope (physical/material)

a) As a church

b) As individuals

3. With reference to scope (spiritual/eternal)

a) Thank God for salvation

b) Thank God for faith to trust in Him

The Lord has blessed abundantly! How should we respond to the Lord for all His blessings outpoured? Let us heed the spirit of worship the ancient psalmist exemplified. Let us offer grateful and joyous worship to the Lord our great God and King!
