YOU HAVE MADE ME GLAD

Text: Psalm 92

A SPECIAL WORK OF GOD

Gladness of heart is a special work that God can do for us. What a thrilling word we read in the following text.

For You, LORD have made me glad through Your work:
I will triumph in the works of Your hands.

O LORD, how great are Your works!
Your thoughts are very deep. Psalm 92:4-5

1. You, LORD

a) There is recognition of God’s work

b) He is truly involved in the lives of those who trust in Him

2. The Works of God

a) They are truly great!

i) God’s works are always great by virtue of the fact that He does them

ii) It takes depth to understand and appreciate His works

b) They make the heart glad

i) This gladness comes from understanding

ii) It comes through personal experience

iii) The beneficiary will be able to speak of gladness felt in the heart

c) They reflect great depth of thought

i) God never does anything superficially

ii) There is always high purpose

iii) There is always a Divine goal in mind

iv) His thoughts encompass the distant future- indeed all eternity!

3. Triumph

a) This may be anticipated

b) This spurs us to possess great confidence

c) This challenges us to have a strong spirit of thanksgiving to the Lord


LET US SEEK TO CULTIVATE A HEART OF GLADNESS

God would love to create a heart of gladness in us. However, it is true that we must not fail to do our part.

1. Our part is to comprehend the Lord’s work

2. It is also to comply with His will revealed in His word

3. We need to have consistency in our learning to relate to God in our life!

Let us humbly pray that we will have a heart that is full of gladness as we celebrate Bethany’s 40+1 Anniversary this month!
