Text: Hebrews 8

THE TABERNACLE MINISTRY
The Tabernacle was the prescribed place of worship and service in the days of Moses. The following are some of its special features.
- There was a high priest Hebrews 8:1

b) And sacrifices
c) On behalf of the nation of Israel
- The tribe of Levi
a) The tribe of Levi was chosen by the Lord
b) It represented the first-born redeemed by the Lord
c) The first high priest was Aaron
d) All subsequent high priests must come from this family line
- The ministry of the Tabernacle
a) The pattern of the Tabernacle was given by God Himself
b) Moses was instructed to follow Divine instructions carefully when the Tabernacle was built
ANOTHER TABERNACLE MINISTRY
God created another Tabernacle ministry and this was related to the Lord Jesus Christ!
- The High Priest of this Heavenly Tabernacle Ministry
This would be the Lord Jesus Christ Himself Hebrews 8:1
- Unique features of His Ministry
a) He is seated at the right hand of the throne of God Hebrews 8:1
b) This throne is in heaven Hebrews 8:1
c) This Tabernacle was not made by man Hebrews 8:2
d) It was made by God Himself Hebrews 8:2
A COMPARISON OF THE TWO TABERNACLES
The writer of Hebrews had this to say about the comparison!
- The Earthly Tabernacle
a) This was only a copy of the original
b) It was a shadow of the heavenly model
- The Heavenly Tabernacle
a) This was the original model
b) It was the blue-print of the earthly model
THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
The ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ was extolled by the writer of the Book of Hebrews.
- He has a more excellent ministry Hebrews 8:6
- He is the Mediator in this ministry Hebrews 8:6
- This is called the New Covenant Ministry Hebrews 8:6
- The New Covenant was established on better promises Hebrews 8:6
Thank God for what the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished when He died on the Cross of Calvary. He is our Mediator, our great High Priest of the Heavenly Tabernacle. Let us worship with a great sense of joy in the Lord Jesus Christ!
