SPOKEN TO US BY HIS SON

WE BEGIN OUR PREPARATION TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS     

Let us seek to prepare our hearts and minds to celebrate arguably the happiest season of the year- Christmas! Let us focus, as we should, on the Person whose birth we honour and celebrate- the Lord Jesus Christ!

THE PERSOM OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

This year we will take time to focus on the Sonship of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us look at some of the thoughts featured in the Book of Hebrews.

God who at various times and in various ways

Spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,

 

Has in these last days spoken to us by His Son,

Whom He has appointed heir of all things,

Through whom also He made the worlds;

 

Who being in the brightness of His glory

And the express image of His person,

And upholding all things by the word of His power,

When He had by Himself purged our sins,

Sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.     Hebrews 1:1-4

  1. God speaking to His people

a) At various times

b) In various ways

c) Through the prophets

  1. Honouring of the prophets

a) As they should be honoured

b) As the holy servants of the LORD

c) As servants who bring vital messages from the LORD

  1. God speaking through His Son

a) He is the appointed heir of all things

b) He was co-creator of the worlds

c) He is he express image of God

d) He upholds all things in His power

e) He saw to the purging of our sins

f) He sits at the right hand of God

  1. Honouring the Son of God

a) If we hold the prophets of God with honour

b) We must even more honour the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God!

Let us celebrate Christmas with the greatest sense of gratitude that the Lord Jesus Christ is our Saviour!
