I WILL LOVE YOU, O LORD
Text: Psalm 18

A GREAT WAY OF BEARING WITNESS
One of the ways to bear witness for the Lord God effectively is to speak of having a love for God. This was what King David did when he wrote Psalm 18.
I will love You, O LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:1-2
1. I will love You, O LORD
a) This is a clear and open statement of love for God
b) The underlying foundation is that of faith and trust in Him
2. Reasons why we speak of love for the Lord
a) My strength
i) David found strength from God time and time again
ii) Have you also found strength from God in time of need?
Share how you found strength from the Lord
b) My rock and fortress
i) David found refuge in God
ii) There were times when he was in danger; gratefully he turned to God
iii) There are many out there who wish they can find refuge in God too
c) My deliverer, My God
i) David discovered the Lord as his deliverer on many occasions
ii) The LORD was his God in the most personal manner
iii) So many do not have a personal faith in God; they too can find God as their Deliverer
d) My shield and the horn of my salvation
i) The Lord is a wonderfully great Shield
ii) The salvation that He gives is full and complete
LET US BEAR WITNESS CONFIDENTLY
We are not told to go and convert anyone! Our part is to simply bear witness for the Lord confidently. Let us consciously do our part in bearing witness for the Lord. May hearts be touched and challenged by what we share.
