MY PEOPLE, MY CHOSEN

Text: Isaiah 43

THE PROMISES OF GOD

Many are the promises of God. They are heart-warming and precious! They bring such an uplift to the heart! Let us read the following text with much joy.

Do not remember the former things,

Nor consider the things of old.

 

Behold, I will do a new thing,

Now it shall spring forth;

Shall you not know it?

I will even make a road in the wilderness

And rivers in the desert.

 

The beast of the field will honour Me,

The jackals and the ostriches,

Because I give waters in the wilderness

And rivers in the desert,

To give drink to My people, My chosen.

 

This people I have formed for Myself;

They shall declare My praise.     Isaiah 43:18-21

 

  1. Do not remember the former things/ the things of old

a) A reference to the sinful past

b) Bad memories can be such a bane to the soul

  1. Behold, I will do a new thing

a) A road in the wilderness

b) Rivers in the desert

c) This will require great power from the Lord

  1. Consequences

a) The animals that live in arid regions

b) They will honour the Lord for His provision

  1. What about us?

a) His people

b) His chosen

  1. How should we respond?

a) To God for His provision

b) To the Lord for His wonderful grace, mercy and love?

THE PEOPLE OF GOD

Let us declare His praise! Let us offer to the Lord the honour that is due to His name! Let us share our faith boldly and with great joy!
