LET US RETURN TO THE LORD

Text: Hosea 6:1-3

SEEKING THE LORD ALL OVER AGAIN

The challenge to seek the Lord applies to three categories of people:

  1. Those who do not know God
  1. Those who do know God but are desirous of knowing Him better
  1. Those who have gone astray and are seeking to return to the Lord

RETURNING TO THE LORD

The prophet had these wonderful words to give to all who sought to return to God.

Come, and let us return to the Lord;

For He has torn, but He will heal us;

He has stricken, but He will bind us up.

After two days He will revive us;

On the third day He will raise us up,

That we may live in His sight.

Let us know,

Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord.

His going forth is established as the morning;

He will come to us like the rain,

Like the latter and former rain to the earth.     Hosea 6:1-3

  1. An invitation to return to the Lord

a) This was a gracious appeal

b) This was uttered gently

  1. Recognition of the problems faced in life

a) Torn

b) Stricken

  1. Great assurance given

a) God will heal

b) He will bind up wounds

c) He will bring about revival

d) He will raise up

  1. Every encouragement

a) To seek knowledge of God

b) God may be known

c) He is consistent and faithful

Let us be greatly encouraged to seek the Lord with all our heart and soul!
