DAILY LOADS US WITH BENEFITS

Text: Psalm 68:19-20

THE BENEFITS THAT GOD HAS GIVEN

The Scriptures record plainly the many blessings God has bestowed on His people. This text is but one of many that describe the Lord’s goodness manifested.

Blessed be the LORD,

Who daily loads us with benefits,

The God of our salvation!

Our God is the God of salvation;

And to God the LORD belong escapes from death.     Psalm 68:19-20

  1. Blessed be the LORD

a) This is an appropriate response

b) The LORD is to be blessed indeed

  1. Similar language

a) The blessing of the LORD was similarly expressed in other Psalms

b) Most notable is Psalm 103 where the idea of God’s benefits are further elaborated on

  1. Daily loads us with benefits

a) How absolutely true this statement is!

b) The list of His benefits is a long one

c) The focus here that is amazing is the phrase “daily loads”

i)  The blessings of God are many

ii) They are also given daily!

d) The challenge is to truly practise counting our blessings

  1. The God of our salvation

a) The reason why we are so blessed starts with this thought

b) We have a wonderful God

  1. His Plan of salvation

a) Not only to save our souls

b) But also, to load us with daily blessings

c) To free us from the bondage of fear of death

d) God will be there to deliver us from all evil

BLESSING THE LORD

Let us determine to bless the name of the Lord our God. Let us seek to extol the God of our salvation more and more in our daily life!
