IN THE SECRET PLACE OF YOUR PRESENCE

Text: Psalm 31

IN THE PRESENCE OF MAN

The Psalmist David experienced many traumatic moments in the presence of man. Ponder the short list:

  1. There were enemies who threatened his life

a) They laid secret traps     Psalm 31:4

b) They slandered him     Psalm 31:13

c) They schemed against him     Psalm 31:15

  1. These were wicked people     Psalm 31:17

a) They lied

b) They were proud

c) They were insolent

d) They were contemptuous     Psalm 31:17-18

PROBLEMS OF LIFE CAN AFFECT ADVERSELY

David was affected adversely. This was evidenced in the following things stated:

  1. Deep grief felt     Psalm 31:9-10
  1. Strength ebbed     Psalm 31:10
  1. Forgotten by people     Psalm 31:12
  1. Fearful     Psalm 31:13

PRESENCE OF GOD

David desperately sought the presence of God. He discovered the following things about the presence of God.

You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence

From the plots of man.

You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence

From the plots of man,

You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from

The strife of tongues.     Psalm 31:20

  1. The presence of God

a) It is a secret place

b) It has to be sought and found

  1. It is a hiding place

a) He gives protection from enemies

b) That place is not necessary a physical thing
