GOD AND THE WORD OF HIS GRACE

Text: Acts 20:25-38

GOOD EXAMPLES

Thank God for every good example we come across. They could be examples we find written in the Scriptures. They could be people who are alive and they have made a positive impact on our lives. We may be wonderfully blessed by their exemplary lives!

BEHIND EVERY GOOD EXAMPLE

What makes a person’s life such a blessing? The Apostle Paul highlighted two things in the following text.

So now, brethren, I commend you to God

And to the word of His grace,

Which is able to build you up

And give you an inheritance among all those

Who are sanctified.     Acts 20:32

1. God

a) He is the Person who is behind every believer

b)  Paul believed with all his heart the power that God has

c) God in Paul’s life:

i) God saved him  

ii) The Lord taught him

iii) He led each and every step of the way

iv) He empowered

v) He transformed

d) We need to deepen the following:

i) Our knowledge of God

ii) Our faith in God

iii) Our experience with God

iv) Our trust in Him

2. The word of His grace

a) God’s word is His special instrument of grace

b) His word of grace:

i) It is able to build us up

ii) It is able to help us understand and appropriate our spiritual inheritance!

c) Our sanctification

i) This is a continuing work of the Holy Spirit

ii) This is a work that helps us desire to live for the Lord dedicatedly

Let us aspire to be good examples for others! Let us seek the Lord and His word of grace even more!
