EVERLASTING STRENGTH

Text: Isaiah 26

PRECIOUS PROMISES

Thank God for the many promises we read in the Scriptures. This is one very special promise we read in the book of Isaiah.

In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:

“We have a strong city;

God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks.

2 Open the gates,

That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.

3 You will keep him in perfect peace,

Whose mind is stayed on You,

Because he trusts in You.

4 Trust in the Lord forever,

For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.     Isaiah 26:1-4

a) The content of this song is about the LORD

b) We have all we will ever need in Him

  1. The blessings that should rejoice our hearts

a) The salvation that God gives

b) The strength that God offers

c) What joy to contemplate “everlasting strength”

d) The peace of heart and mind that is available

OUR PART 

What is our part as we reflect on the promises of the LORD?

  1. We must choose righteousness

a) Righteousness is found in the way of truth

b) May we choose to keep truth

  1. We must choose to exercise trust

a) Trust begins with knowledge of God

b) Faith is then exercised 

May there be special joy as we walk in the truth of God’s word this Christmas!
