THE LORD WILL COMFORT ZION

Text: Isaiah 51

WONDERFUL WORDS OF COMFORT

Thank God for the Scriptures. How wonderfully comforting are the truths we may find in the Lord’s Word.

1 Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness,
You who seek the Lord:
Look to the rock from which you were hewn,
And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.

2 Look to Abraham your father,
And to Sarah who bore you;
For I called him alone,
And blessed him and increased him.”

3 For the Lord will comfort Zion,
He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the Lord;
Joy and gladness will be found in it,
Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.     Isaiah 51:1-3

  1. Learning to Look wisely

a) Look at the rock from which we were hewn

b) Look at the hole from which we were dug

c) Look at the example of Abraham and Sarah

  1. Looking at how the LORD had blessed them

a) The LORD blessed mightily

b) He added blessing after blessing

  1. Looking up to the LORD

a) He will give comfort

b) The wilderness will be like Eden

c) He will grant joy and gladness

d) We can be filled with thanksgiving

CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS

What a wonderful word of blessing we have from the LORD this Christmas! Let us learn how to Look at the promises of God. May our hearts be filled with gladness and thanksgiving!
