WORDS OF GREAT ENCOURAGEMENT

The LORD gave words that should have caused the heart to feel greatly encouraged. These words were uttered by Moses to the children of Israel.

8 “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

9 “The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 

10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.   Deuteronomy 28:8-10

  1. Blessings are given by God’s command

a) Blessings come from the LORD

b) It is His prerogative to command blessing

  1. God’s plan 

a) God made them His “holy people”

b) He has promised to bless them

  1. God’s Provision

a) He will provide all that they need

b) He will establish them as His holy people

c) They would be blessed with material possessions too

  1. God’s hand of blessing would be obvious

a) People would take note of God’s blessings

b) His hand of blessing would be unmistakable

THE PART THAT GOD’S PEOPLE MUST PLAY

  1. They must keep His commandments
  2. They must walk in His way

Then would the blessings of the Lord be confirmed!
