Text: 1 Peter 4

THE SUFFERINGS OF THE LORD JESUS
Sometimes, we take for granted just how much the Lord Jesus suffered for us. Isaiah 53 gives us a small glimpse of the terrible sufferings the Lord had to endure for us so that we might be able to obtain salvation. Three may be highlighted
- He was despised and rejected by men Isaiah 53:3
- He was wounded for our transgressions Isaiah 53:5a
- He was bruised for our iniquities Isaiah 53:5b
IDENTIFICATION WITH THE LORD JESUS
The Apostle Peter wrote to encourage the Diaspora Church to be unafraid of being identified with the Lord Jesus.
12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. 1 Peter 4:12-14

OUR CHALLENGE
