Unashamed of Full Trust in God

Text: Psalm 25

(I) CONCERN ABOUT BEING ASHAMED

“O my God, I trust in You; let me not be ashamed;
Let not my enemies triumph over me.
Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed;
Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.” Psalm 20:2-3
“Keep my soul, and deliver me;
Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You.” Psalm 25:20

1. The root idea behind the word “ashamed”

(II) NO CAUSE FOR ALARM

“Good and upright is the LORD;
Therefore He teaches sinners in the way,
The humble He guides in justice,
And the humble He teaches His way.
All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth,
To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.” Psalm 25:8-10

Seven wonderful reasons why we may Trust the Lord fully

1. He is Good

2. He is Upright

3. He teaches repentant sinners

4. He guides the humble

5. He is full of mercy

6. He is a God of truth

7. He will remember to keep His covenant promises

(III) ASCERTAINING THAT THERE WILL NEVER BE SHAME

“For Your name’s sake, O LORD, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.” Psalm 25:11
“Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day” Psalm 25:4-5
“Who is the man who fears the LORD?
Him He shall teach in the way He chooses.” Psalm 25:12
“The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him,
And He will show them His covenant.” Psalm 25:14
