(I) A CHALLENGE TO SING TO THE LORD

1. Who are encouraged to sing to the Lord?

a) The righteous ( Psalm 33:1a )

b) The upright ( Psalm 33:1b )

c) The people He chose to be His own inheritance ( Psalm 33:12b )

d) Those who fear Him ( Psalm 33:18a )

e) Those who hope in His mercy ( Psalm 33:18b )

2. How may they sing to the Lord?

a) With musical instruments ( Psalm 33:2 )

b) With skill ( Psalm 33:3b )

c) With joy ( Psalm 33:3b )

(II) DEEPENING THE SPIRIT OF PRAISE

1. With a growing knowledge of God’s Word (Psalm 33:4-9)

a) His word is right ( Psalm 33:4a )

b) His word is full of power ( Psalm 33:6a )

c) His word is mighty with authority ( Psalm 33:9 )

2. With a growing appreciation of God (Psalm 33:54-19)

a) He is a God who loves righteousness and justice ( Psalm 33:5a )

b) He is full of goodness ( Psalm 33:5b )

c) His counsel stands forever ( Psalm 33:11 )

d) His eyes are on those who fear Him ( Psalm 33:18 )

e) He preserves the life of those who hope in Him ( Psalm 33:18-19 )

(III) ENCOURAGEMENT TO SING TO GOD ALWAYS

1. Waiting upon the Lord (Psalm 33:20a)

2. Trusting in the Lord as our Help and Shield (Psalm 33:20-21)

3. Praying to God (Psalm 33:22)
