THE DISPLAY OF GOD’S POWER

1. The Person of God manifested

a) His sovereignty
b) His power
c) His majesty
d) His identification with His people

2. The Promises of God

a) God will always fulfil His word
b) He will always be faithful to His people

THE IMPACT ON THE DIFFERENT GROUPS OF PEOPLE

1. The Servants of God

a) Moses and Aaron
b) Their faith in God
i) Confirmed
ii) Certain
iii) Grown
iv) Maturing

2. Pharaoh and Egypt

a) Initial Defiance
b) Human pride
c) Resistance
d) Fear of God
e) Stubbornness
f) Hardening of the heart
g) Humbled and compelled to obey
h) But essentially no faith in God

3. The Children of Israel

Mixed response
a) At the outset
Worship when things are not unpleasant   (Exodus 4:31; 12:28)
b) When hardship was experienced
Anger when things turn out unpleasantly   (Exodus 5:12)
c) Out of Egypt
Sarcasm and unbelief when in danger   (Exodus 14:11-12)
