(I) DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT GROUPS OF PEOPLE

1. The wicked

“Make haste, O God, to deliver me!Make haste to help me, O LORD!” Psalm 70:1

a) Known by their wickedness

b) Known by their evil intentions

“…Who seek my life…” Psalm 70:2b

“…Who desire my hurt.” Psalm 70:2d

c) Known by their taunts

“…Who say, ‘Aha, aha!’ ” Psalm 70:3b

2. The righteous

a) Known by their seeking after the Lord

“…those who seek You…” Psalm 70:4a

b) Known by their love for God’s salvation

“…those who love Your salvation…” Psalm 70:4b

(II) PRAYER CONCERNING THE WICKED

1. With Direct reference to the wicked

a) Shame

“Let them be ashamed…” Psalm 70:2a

b) Confounded

“Let them be…confounded…” Psalm 70:2a

c) Turned back

“Let them be turned back because of their shame…” Psalm 70:3a

2. With reference to deliverance from the wicked

a) Urgent plea for immediate help

“Make haste, O God, to deliver me!Make haste to help me, O LORD!” Psalm 70:1

b) Humble plea

“But I am poor and needy…You are my help and my deliverer…” Psalm 70:5

(III) DETERMINATION TO MAGNIFY THE LORD’S NAME

1. Amidst problems in life

2. To all who seek the Lord

a) A heart of filled with joy

b) A heart filled with gladness

“…be glad…” Psalm 70:4a

3. To all who love the Lord’s salvation

a) Continually

b) Confident Outcry
