1. Site of the Vineyard   (Isaiah 5:1)

A fruitful hill

2. Preparation of the Vineyard   (Isaiah 5:2)

a) Stones dug up
b) Stones thrown away

3. Planting of the Vine   (Isaiah 5:2)

The choicest vine

4. Protection of the Vineyard   (Isaiah 5:2)

a) A tower in the midst
b) A hedge/ Wall   (Isaiah 5:5)

5. Expectations   (Isaiah 5:2)

a) Made a winepress
b) Natural expectation of the vine to produce good grapes

THE DISMAL PRODUCT

1. It brought forth wild grapes

2. A most disappointing result   (Isaiah 5:2, 4)

3. Application

“The vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel” Isaiah 5:7
a) The good grapes = Justice and righteousness
b) The wild grapes = Oppression and a cry for help (from the victims)

THE DIVINE THREAT

1. Removal of special protection   (Isaiah 5:5)

b) Wall

2. Removal of blessings

b) No pruning

3. In place of blessings

a) Trampling of the vineyard
b) Briers and thorns
