(I) CONTEMPLATION OF HAVING A HERITAGE FROM GOD

1. Physical Heritage

a) The Promised Land to ancient Israel

b) The Covenants of God which contained wonderful promises

2. Spiritual Heritage

“In Him also, we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.” Ephesians 1:11

i) Our inheritance to be found in Christ

ii) This is according to the predestined purpose of God

iii) This is according to the counsel of His profound will

(II) THE CONCEPT OF A GOD’S HERITAGE

1. A special blessing from the Lord

a) Out of the goodness of His heart

b) Out of His understanding of our human make-up

c) Out of His profound will concerning Children perfecting His strength

2. Continuity in mind

a) Blessings were meant to last

b) Blessings to those who fear the Lord and love Him

c) Blessings from one generation to another

(III) THE RICHNESS OF OUR HERITAGE FROM GOD

1. Heritage of those who fear the Lord (Psalm 61:5-6)

a) Prolonging of life

b) Preservation of life

c) Protection of life

2. Heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3-5)

a) Children are a special heritage from the Lord

b) Children can be wonderfully loyal to their parents

i) They will come to the defence of their parents

ii) They will protect their parents

(IV) CORRECT RESPONSE FROM OUR HEARTS

1. Praise

“So I will sing praise to Your name always” Psalm 61:8a

2. Performance of vows

“That I may daily perform my vows” Psalm 61:8b
