Text: Proverbs 10
22 December 2002

Dear Parents,

YET ANOTHER CATEGORY MAY BE OBSERVED
Let us take time to review the Lord’s Word often. Let’s apply the principle of review in Proverbs 10.

1. The Righteous and the Wicked

2. The Right and Wrong Use of the Tongue

3. The Wise and the Foolish

Here’s another way of looking at this chapter.

4. The Blessings of the Lord

OBSERVATIONS ABOUT THE BLESSINGS OF THE LORD

1. “Blessings are on the head of the righteous…”
Proverbs 10:6

2. “The memory of the righteous is blessed…”
Proverbs 10:7

3. “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich,
and He adds no sorrow with it.”
Proverbs 10:22

To these obvious statements that involved the word “blessing” we may add the following:-

4. “The LORD will not allow the righteous soul to famish…”
Proverbs 10:3

5. “The way of the LORD is strength for the upright…”
Proverbs 10:29

THE LORD’S INVOLVEMENT

In this chapter, we have some very important truths stated:-

1. The Lord is clearly involved!

2. He takes note of how we live.

a) He shows approval or disapproval of how we live.

b) Where He approves, He adds His blessings.

c) Where He disapproves, He does not give His blessings. The natural consequences of wicked deeds will follow the footsteps of those who pursue an unrighteous lifestyle.

DEVELOPING AN EVEN GREATER CONSCIOUSNESS OF OUR LIFESTYLE
As we note all these great truths in the Lord’s Word, let us be deeply challenged to walk consistently. Every effort must be made to guide our children to walk uprightly, so that they might enjoy the fullness of the Lord’s blessings.

How rich would be the lot of our children when they have the blessings of the Lord upon their lives. Let us seek to be diligent in our task as godly parents!

Prayerfully,
Pastor Charlie
