Dear Parents,
MANY EXPRESSIONS OF WICKEDNESS
Wickedness is not confined to mayhem and murder! Let us examine the following expressions that may be classified under the word “Wickedness”.
1. Perversity and Wickedness
… the perversity of the unfaithful…”
Proverbs 11:3
2. Hypocrisy associated with Wickedness
The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbour…
Proverbs 11:9
3. Cruelty and Wickedness
… he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
Proverbs 11:17
THE JUDGMENT OF THE WICKED
The Scriptures are clear concerning the judgment of the wicked. The following texts would serve to highlight the danger of continuing in wickedness.
1. Death to the Wicked
… he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
Proverbs 11:19
2. Abomination in God’s sight
Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD
Proverbs 11:20
3. Punishment certain
Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished…
Proverbs 11:21
4. Wrath of God
… the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
Proverbs 11:23
5. Trouble
… trouble will come to him who seeks evil.
Proverbs 11:27
BE CHALLENGED TO TEACH CHILDREN HOW TO DESIRE A LIFE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
The challenge is obvious. Let us be deeply moved to guide our children to walk in the paths of righteousness. It may be a difficult path to walk, but the path of wickedness is NOT an alternative at all. Let us be challenged to pray that the Lord would give us the grace, wisdom and strength to keep up the challenging work of parenting.
