Dear Parents,

MISCELLANEOUS WORDS OF ADVICE
There were many other pieces of good advice put in for good measure. These may also be categorized. However, the full value would not be seen unless we sit down and collate the proverbial sayings into their respective categories. Otherwise, we will see them as unrelated and as scattered words of wisdom. This is a good piece of homework that you might like to consider doing.

COLLATE VERSES UNDER THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES
Consider the following categories:-

1. Character Traits (Habits good and bad)

a) Laziness

… the lazy man will be put to forced labour.

Proverbs 12:24

The hand of the diligent will rule…

Proverbs 12:24

… diligence is man’s precious possession.

Proverbs 12:27

c) Frivolity

… he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.

Proverbs 12:11

d) Prudence

Proverbs 12:16

But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.

Proverbs 12:23

2. A Good Wife

Proverbs 31 is almost entirely devoted to extolling the virtues of a good wife. We have scattered references to the good wife in the Book of Proverbs.

a) The Virtues are extolled to encourage women to become good wives.

b) They were penned also to help men choose prospective brides carefully.

An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.

Proverbs 12:4

Prayerfully,
Pastor Charlie
