Text: Proverbs 19
23 October 2005

Dear Parents,

CHILDREN ARE LIMITED IN MANY WAYS
Children being what they are, will always be limited in a number of ways.

1. They have limited knowledge.

2. They have limited experience.

3. They have limited insights.

4. They have limited wisdom.

CHILDREN ARE TERRIBLY VULNERABLE
Children are most vulnerable as a result of their limitations! They become easy prey to the predators that will seize every opportunity to pounce on them! Good parenting involves teaching children how to interpret the world as they grow up!

ASTUTE OBSERVATIONS OF LIFE
One of the ways in which we can help our children navigate safely in the troubled waters of life is to give them good insights!

A disreputable witness scorns justice,
And the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.
Judgments are prepared for scoffers,
And beatings for the back of fools.

Proverbs 19:28-29

1. Teach children how to avoid choosing the path of wickedness

a) The scorning of justice.

b) Developing a wicked lying mouth.

2. Teach children about terrible consequences if they were to choose wickedness

a) They will face severe judgments.

b) They will hurt themselves ultimately.

Let us take the challenge of good parenting most seriously!

Prayerfully,
Pastor Charlie
